New Machinery Hard-On

That’s right. I’ve got a machinery boner and I’m not afraid to share it! Just last weekend, I had a new printing press delivered here to the shop. Built on January 10th, 1967 and placed on my shop floor just 1 day prior to its 42nd anniversary of production. It was clearly meant to be. This mammoth 1-ton fully automated Kluge 10×15 letterpress is naturally referred to as “Killer.” This thing is capable of 700 impressions an hour at its slowest speed and when she’s fully wound up, its like a steam locomotive running through the building! Production capacity tops out around 3 thousand impressions/hour. This thing is gonna save me a world of time and likely save me from loosing a few digits while I’m at it.

Killer… welcome to your new home!

Born Free 3 – June 25th

Born Free 3 Poster and Ticket ordered. No idea yet if I’ll even be around to make it to the party but the poster will go perfectly over one of the letterpresses at my print shop. Dig it. Get yours sooner rather than later. Even better, make the pilgrimage.

Midwest Shops & Garages

Midwest Shops & Garages Series. A new little feature we’re rolling out this winter. The idea is real simple. If you’re from the Midwest (or anywhere cold for that matter) you know that when the snow falls, the cycles, projects, shops, garages and hide outs are the place to be. We’re gonna visit some friends, check out their digs, and see what projects are in the mix.

No where to go and nothing to do but tear it down and put it back together. The first garage in the series will be coming up soon so be sure to check back.

Shout out to Wilford and Sons

Was out on the East Coast for a while again. Swung by a few spots I haven’t visited in more than 7 years. Caught up with some old friends and officially lost touch with others. I guess you really do win some and lose some. Found this pic today and reminded me of Wilford and his boys back in DE. Wilford and his two sons ran a little bike shop from a padlocked garage behind the old train station. Good guys. Good work. Cash only.

All I REALLY Need

Gotta get the garage lift installed. Gotta get a couple bikes finished. Gotta get the Queen Bees scoot going. Gotta get the shop finished. Gotta find those parts. Sh*t is never ending. One of these days I’m gonna get that Northern MN cabin idea going and just disappear. I’m convinced all I really need is a shovelhead, a 4×4, a barn, shotgun, and a wood stove.
