Welcome to Summer

I’m running around like a mad man these days. Getting ready for both the Bearded Lady and Full Tilt. My bike is at Jordan’s shop getting some fab magic. New shirts are supposed to be ready today. The heat has finally let up. Friends visited last weekend and work is work. Last night I needed to find myself so I sat on a stool in front of that damn Vespa till midnight. Zen is working in the garage.

VESPA UPDATE

Lots of tire kicking over the weekend. One guy laid down cash and backed out. THE SCOOTER IS STILL AVAILABLE. One weekend of reassembly and you’ve got a scooter worth 2k come spring. Someone come and take this thing home.

Memorial Day in the Speed Club Garage

Spent a ew hours out in the garage yesterday. Got some sun and painted up the vespa for finishing. I’ve posted a few pics from this scooter before. I’ve had the thing for years and am now FINALLY getting back to it. Truth be told, once I started down a motorcycle path, vintage vespa’s and lambretta just didn’t pack the same punch as they used to. Never the less…

Here it is – the Yellow Submarine in all its sunshiny glory. Visit our spot at the bearded lady motorcycle freak show to check it out in person. Might switch it over to the racing cowls just for the event. See you there. – SC

Speed Club Italiano!

Yeah – for all my love for bikes, I’ve always had a soft spot for the occasional Vespa. I bought my first maybe 8 years ago from a naval yard. It was a 1971 Sprint 160 if I remember correctly. It was a pretty slick little scooter. Other than some bad points, that thing would rip up and down the club house parking lot. I found this one a couple years back when I was still in Boston. Everything was there but the body needed some serious work. I’ve probably spent the better half of this winter bang out all the dents and preping for paint. Here’s a shot of all the body work almost ready for paint.
