Slim Fab

This guy has been around for some time now. I remember first hearing about him through researching the crazy ass trike pictured below. And later, seeing him turn up in a cycle magazine I found at a grocery store. This guy is all about custom fabrication of metric 2-strokes. Slim has some serious skill and imagination. Everything he turns out has his style (and name) all over it. Literally. Dig it – Speed Club Approved. Check out his chop blog too.

Roadside – miles from nowhere

Roadside somewhere between Lake Superior and Finland to stretch our legs, snap photos and take a leak. Pictures just don’t seem to capture it. You’re miles from nowhere with days to go. Glancing over your shoulder at the old miner towns. The dance hall windows have all been broken and the only sign of life is the glowing neon “Schmidt’s” hanging from a lamp post. Another sleepy town swallowed up by time.

Another addition to the chopper blog.

Outside Civilization

Almost 300 miles today. The sun hid behind the clouds keeping the temperature low. Never broke 55 degrees. On the outskirts of civilization, the Tower Cafe serves me the chili and coffee while the waitress tells us stories of her motorcycle and moose experiences. We blast off. Still headed north. 20 miles from the Canadian border without passports gives us good reason to come again. Headed south through the twists and turns along route 1.  Plenty of miles left with no reason to stop in sight. More to come – the chopper blog.

Lowbrow Customs New Site

The guys at Lowbrow have launched their new site. Check it out when you have a chance. The lowbrow blog has been moved to the front page which is definitely right up our alley. The Lowbrow Customs and Biltwell Inc products are always great but in the end, I want to SEE and read about whats happening. Much appreciation for these guys considering the Lowbrow gang are out of the Midwest too. Ohio to be exact.

dig it – Speed Club Approved.

Speed Club Garage Pics

Sorry for the late post today. Had to visit the dentist. Call me 5 years old if you want to… but I HATE the dentist. Rusty at work. Threading rod for the forward control linkage on Eric’s xs650 chopper project. Things are really coming along. His shift and brake linkage is complete. We just need to space his back wheel, hook up the hydro brake line and check his charging system and he’s squared away for the rest of the summer. We’ll post more stuff to the chopper blog  along the way. Check back.
