So Speed Club Inc attended last weekends Gringo & Mickey’s Moto Psycho Swap Meet. From an enthusiasts standpoint, the event was a little short on vendors in comparison to the last years. I think it might have been because of Donnie Smith’s Bike show and Swap coming up in 2 weeks. In any event, we did pick up some really sweet junk for a couple projects and I managed to snap some photos for the chopper blog.
I found a great 45″ motor crammed into a milk crate. The guy wanted $1200 beans so I decided to pass. I also bumped into the Heavy-Clothing.com guys with a booth made out of Heavy t-shirts, twisted bars and shovelhead motors.
There was a lot of great stuff out there last time including the dude from LifeisFuct with a bunch of merch. Inner primary, spoke wheels, jet kits, drag pipes, helmets, leather, you name it… It’s there. Speed Club was also in attendance. We got rid of a bunch of stuff from the garage including an awesome cafe headlight and tail section from an old cafe Sportster. That’s right… Midwest cycle freaks be there.
That’s right folks. The Ton-Up Club Chicago has their ass in gear and have already posted the flyer and date for their annual Mods v.s. Rockers event. If you are in the Chicago area on June 19th, DO NOT SKIP THIS EVENT. You wont want to miss it. Speed Club will be there.
These M/R rides creep up all over the US. Last year alone Minneapolis, Chicago, Ohio and Wisconsin all hosted their own version. These rides are always a lot of fun so have a look around your area and see if you’re missing out.
The Speed Club gang met up last night for pints and brain storming. We hit up te Red Stag and Britts for pints. Everything in the RS is tinted red like an old porn movie and Britts is about as UK pub as you can get in the Midwest. Here’s a pic of Rusty and his Grain Belt.
With the new website and the Midwest riding season fast approaching, we needed to make sure we are covering all the local bases. We’re planning on being sponsors for a few Minneapolis motorcycle events and we’re evenĀ considering arranging a smaller group ride way up north into iron country. We’re working on bringing in products to the website for SAE and Metric bikes and with the seasons biggest swap meet coming up this weekend, I’m personally hoping to have some great stuff to toss up in the classifieds section.
New to the chopper blog; Below is a video made by one of our own (Brian Durk). He’s a wiz with electricity and he’s a major Yamaha’s enthusiast. He’s known to float around the Twin Cities popping up at bars, garages and bike shows to lend a hand in the wiring dept. Hit him up if you’re in need.
