X – Johnny Hit And Run Paulene

I just can’t help myself. X always gets me jacked for the summer. I want to get out and ride till my eyes melt out of my head. Days and nights in the hot garage stinking like gasoline and warm beer. It’s always the songs in your head.

MOds vs R0ckers 2010 – Twin Cities

That’s right folks. Swung by Blue Cat Motors yesterday to drop off a scooter for consignment. While I was there, I grabbed tons of hand bills for lots of great new events coming up this summer here in the Twin Cities. Todays post presents the Minneapolis/St Paul Mods vs Rockers ride which is hosted yearly by Blue Cat Motors. This years “MvR” will be on June 5th, 2010. Bikes meet up at Grumpy’s Northeast. Scoots meet at Psycho Suzie’s North East. Be there by 12:20-1:30 and then g for a short ride ending at the Blue Cat shop. Last year was a bit of a wash out but none-the-less, there was quite a turn out. Be There or Be Square.

A True Barn Find – “Senior”

I used to work at a motorcycle junkyard on the east coast. The yard was nce an old hatchery. Anyone who has any idea what working on a hatchery farm will tell you that chicken sh*t is one of the most foul smells imaginable. Every summer, the sun would beat own on the tin-roof coops and warm that familiar smell. I was in one of the old office building going through boxes of parts. I found this picture at the bottom of a box marked “Senior.” I remember looking at the picture and thinking, “that’s a keeper.” It’s now in a little frame in the shop just above one of my antique presses.

Speed Club Garage Pics

Sorry for the late post today. Had to visit the dentist. Call me 5 years old if you want to… but I HATE the dentist. Rusty at work. Threading rod for the forward control linkage on Eric’s xs650 chopper project. Things are really coming along. His shift and brake linkage is complete. We just need to space his back wheel, hook up the hydro brake line and check his charging system and he’s squared away for the rest of the summer. We’ll post more stuff to the chopper blog  along the way. Check back.

Two Things That I Love

Two things I love… Bikes and Cars! There’s a guy down my street with a 1950 Chevy coupe. It’s one of those un-restored gem kinda cars. Granted, it sits outside all winter while the tires slowly deflate but come summer, the kid always manages to fire the beast back up for the typical Friday night cruise past Porky’s on University Ave. Anyways, this pic kinda reminds me of the neighbors whip.

I  wouldn’t kick it out of the garage or anything but chrome Triumph’s are a clean freaks nightmare!
