Roadside somewhere between Lake Superior and Finland to stretch our legs, snap photos and take a leak. Pictures just don’t seem to capture it. You’re miles from nowhere with days to go. Glancing over your shoulder at the old miner towns. The dance hall windows have all been broken and the only sign of life is the glowing neon “Schmidt’s” hanging from a lamp post. Another sleepy town swallowed up by time.
Another addition to the chopper blog.

It’s time for a road trip into no mans land. We’ve left for Northern Minnesota. We’re first headed up to Duluth followed by a trip through Tower and into Ely. From there, we head south on RT 1. For anyone who has never ridden one… this is a road less traveled. The last time I rode this stretch of asphalt, I shifted into neutral and coasted downhill for more than 3-4 miles at a time. Tons of little twists and turns, blind corners and wilderness. My last trip included almost rounding a corner into a wolf standing by the road side in broad daylight. Had to pack the tools for this one. Will get pics and return with stories.

Here’s a few pics of stretch with his harley drag bike out at lions raceway from way back when. This thing has it all. Great lines, nothing to hold on to and a face only a mother could love! These pics are great too. Lots of detail including the rad custom tank, school bell air filter cover, finned case, and that springer front end! Love those bobber style race bikes! Speed club approved!

Went out Sunday to Cattail Trail in Polk County Wisconsin to break in the new Banshee. Had a pretty good time. The trail is 100% flat (railroad bed) without many turns at all. Ultimately not the most exciting of trails but it was great for opening that Banshee up and jamming through the gears. I was definitely pushing 70MPH at one stretch which reassured me that ATV’s = FUN! Dig it – Speed Club
