Later Gator

Headed over to the house of the unholy for the typical Thursday night round up. Something made me go. I was gonna sit around and watch TV but I realized this might be the last time to hang out with Gator before he leaves for FL!

Everyone was out. There’s lots to celebrate. New Kevin’s bike is in this issue of ShowClass Mag. I’ve almost got my shovelhead flywheels trued. Blaine has just about everything to start assembling his pan. There’s a swap this Sunday and I picked up a sexy girder from Pete! The bummer was that with Gator splitting, things just won’t be the same. I’m sure Gator will be back in town now and again. Here are a few quick photos I managed to snag while running around the shop.

Enjoy-

Bear’s Place – St Paul

Went out on Thursday morn. Stopped over at Bears Place. He’s a good dude. Shovel knowledge bleeding out his ears. He set me up with a handful misc parts including that good ol’ ramjet retainer. Went back to the garage and swapped my 3″ primary for the 1.5″ set up. All is ready for the Iowa trip. More on that shit later.

Shovelhead Sonny

Still in progress this week. It’s been nothing but doom and gloom all day. Took Sonny with me to hang out in the garage but all he wanted to do was sit on the bike. Fact: If your kid shows interest in bikes, encourage it. Sonny rules! by the way: Check out the custom fender I came up with. Drag/Digger/Smith-Fetrow/Crazy Frank Inspired prism fender. My first Speed Club Original. Hand hammered, shaped, and welded by Me and Mine. Taillight is tucked up underneath. Still needs a little love before paint but it’s almost there. More on that shit soon enough.

Cough and Puke

Helpful shit for when you start that new shovelhead and it decides to cough and puke all over the garage floor. Found this on some forum. Saved it for future memorization.

Swap Meet Grabs

Got up early and dragged myself out to the Swap in Anoka. They opened the doors a little early and I slipped in with the old heads. Scored some cheap necessities and I think I found a good local used parts friend in one of the vendors. Picked up a complete midset pegs/ brake pedal set up and a polished open-primary alternator cover for $20 bucks. I even rummaged up a a little chromed front air scoop (Drag style). Maybe it will end up on the shovelhead project but that remains to be seen. It’s still early. If you were on the fence about going… go. Still some good stuff on the tables when I left.
