Quick Trade Opportunity

I have a gen shovel 4spd ratchet top trans. Its in perfect working order. New main shaft seal. Its not gonna work for my project cause the main shaft is too short. The typical cone shovel 4spd ratchet top has a slightly longer shaft needed to help align the belt primary to a cone shovel motor. In an effort to save myself time and money, I’m opting to ask if anyone wants to trade up even my older 4sp for a newer cone 4spd. Again, my 4spd is in good working order. No bad/jumping gears.  I only want to trade for a trans of the same condition. Not interested in cowpies either. Email me at info@speedclubinc.com

Get to work, son!

Im on fire right now son! Threw a new MK on a wheel, bars welded last night, sold some shit, bought some shit, bent up a bitch bar with New Kevin and I’ve got a vintage track racing bike project coming into the shop here shortly. Getting close?

Yeah – me neither. Seems like everyone out here is working on at least one project if not two. I just checked the Donnie Smith Show site and that at least give me some kind of deadline. 52 days to get my act together. TO DO: Tonight Im getting up with New Kevin to bend up a sissy bar and finish weld my bars. A new wheel arrives tomorrow (Ive got the tire and tube sitting on a shelf). Im also making some crazy super-pipes and I have to rebuild a set of heads and rockers. After that, I can make some wheel spacers, mount my fender and piece everything together before stripping down for paint and chrome. Okay – so apparently Ive got some work to do.

FOR SALE – 80″ Project

Up for sale in the Chopper Shack. 80″ bottom end. Running perfect when pulled and swapped for stroker motor. I pulled heads last week for something else. Cylinders/Pistons look like NEW. Hydro lifters. Old Jammer frame with custom rear axles (boxed in drag bike style). Very slight rake to neck. Seat, rigid oil tank, 35mm front end w/ good chrome, NEW Lowbrow P-nut tank. Good front tire, Junk rear tire for mock-up purposes. Now’s a great time to get started on that winter bike build. Here’s just what you need to get started. Make me an offer.

Union Speed and Style – Garage Feature III

Ran out to visit Jordan at Union Speed and Style yesterday. Turns out it was his Birthday. Happy birthday mother f*cker! Jordan is fitting me for a custom vest. Sh*t is gonna be tough! Denim w/ golden brown stitch, green/tan flannel liner, and a short pop collar. While I was there I thought it a good time to get him in for a little garage feature session. Union Speed is tucked back on River street in Monticello. A little off the beaten path but for what he’s doing, its probably a good thing. This dude is so busy, he’d probably loose his sh*t if he were in the twin cities (distractions day in and day out).

Jordan and I don’t get many chances to hang out with us both being knee deep in running our respective shops. That said, I did get to rock down to Iowa with him lat weekend. His little XS has got some serious balls. Not surprising… his bike didnt miss a beat once the entire trip. His spot was packed with projects. Jordan dabbles in all sorts of stuff. He’s turning out custom tanks, frames, leather and denim, seats, etc. Come to think of it… he’s a bit of a one stop shop.

Union Speed works pretty steadily throughout the year and they even manage to make all the stops on the vendor circuit. I’m not even really sure exactly how many people make up Union Speed but from the work load, they probably some kind of small army.

The Union Speed Crew are definitely a younger bunch but they’re also talented well beyond their years. If you need some fabrication, without having to deal with the grumpy old heads in the scene, these are the dudes to hook up with. They’ve got the skills and creativity to blow minds. Check em out.
