Born Free is a rad show put on by rad people with nothing but good intentions. Its an inevitable who’s-who of chopper aficionados wandering through a sea of lovers, haters and appreciators. Let’s not forget, there’s a bike given away too. How cool is that? As the show approaches, Im thinking more and more about the trip, making new friends and everything else that falls into the spirit of the whole thing. Don’t get me wrong… it would be wild to win a bike but it’s really such tiny part of a much larger plan. The longer Ive known folks like Harpoon, Grant and (locally) my HEAVY neighbors, the more I realize that we’re all one great big Speedmaster spinnin’ down the same highway. Hopefully, I’ll see you all in California.
We all rode down to Kung Fu Tap for the annual Dice Party including Harpoon and Leighton from CA. I was listening to a lot of Blue Cheer that month. I rolled all the way out there blasting this shit into my dome.
Get ’em while they last. We’re trying to raise money to pay for this years Born Free booth. Last year we sponsored the event in spirit. We donated some cash and attended in person but didnt go all-in with the booth and the set up. This year, we are trying to raise the money for both the vendor slot as well as the typical travel expense to get the bikes and booth to the party. Harpoon and Grant put on quite a show. Spencer has been hard at work all week trying to get his little Triumph rocking. After much frustration and late nights… she’s alive and actually ridable. It was a little touch and go there for a while but he managed to squeak the bike past the finish line early this evening. Check him out today at Full Tilt. Where exactly is full tilt at? On a side note. It’s 1am and I’m at the shop downloading video and pics from the Pre-Tilt party. Steve lent me a really sweet Rode mic for my camera. Making me look all for serious and what not. Harpoon and Grant (Born Free/FMA) are here, Josh Kurpius and the Death Science crew made it, Eternal combustion is here along with a whole lot of other folks too. The show is all on the up and up. This thing will be quite the gathering.
Great time. Burned a few layers of skin off my face. A couple breakdowns along the way. Zac rolled out his fresh bike. Harpoon and Jeff were in town so Dave lent them a couple bikes.
