Picture Perfect Day!

Great weather. The sun is shinning and my grass is green. Time to roll out Eric’s XS bar hopper for some pics. Bike is coming along steady. Rear wheel is finally spaced out along with caliper. Tank is on and we’re just ironing out his ignition and the pesky xs650 charging system. Coming up is his custom brake line, rear fender, and taillight. From there, he’s on his way.

Speed Club Garage Pics

Sorry for the late post today. Had to visit the dentist. Call me 5 years old if you want to… but I HATE the dentist. Rusty at work. Threading rod for the forward control linkage on Eric’s xs650 chopper project. Things are really coming along. His shift and brake linkage is complete. We just need to space his back wheel, hook up the hydro brake line and check his charging system and he’s squared away for the rest of the summer. We’ll post more stuff to the chopper blogĀ  along the way. Check back.

The Decline of Midwestern Civilization ~ Zac Doom

Stompin’ around out in the Midwest, you cant NOT stumble onto Zac Doom (or as I like to call Heavy Himself) and Heavy-clothing.com. This guy really represents for the Midwest Moto Culture. In fact, he recently made it to cover of Iron Horse Magazine. I’m definitely not the first guy to report on this but I had one of those 1 degree of separation moments this morning when Eric dropped off his bike to get some work done. Eric mentioned knowing Zac to some degree and I realized damn… this dude gets around. With that, I thought fitting to show him a little extra love via the Speed Club Chopper Blog.

Zac,
Congrats on the cover. Much love, respect and appreciation for keeping the midwest Heavy. Hope to see you around this year.

Speed Club Garage – Eric’s XS in Minneapolis

Swung by Minneapolis yesterday to visit Eric and to take a look at his XS650 bar hopper. It’s definitely a build in progress and it looks like we’re going to be taking it in at the Speed Club Garage for the next few weeks. There are all sorts of odds and ends to button up but in the end we’ll be looking at one slick little bobber. He’s already set up his 100% CUSTOM FABRICATED hardtail frame including an FX front end w/ 21″ whitewalls and Harley 16″ spoke rear wheel w/ hydro banana caliper. I dont know the neck rake but the thing looks fast just sitting on the kick stand. Not many pics yet but we’ll definitely get some posted as the project progresses. Maybe we’ll snag a little video too? Check back often for more from the Speed Club Garage on the chopper blog.
