Engineering is nothing…

without imagination. This is easily one of the most creative ideas Ive seen in a long time. Dig it. Great job Paul!

Ironhead Wednesday

I’ve got another bike build on the brain which once again has led me straight to drag bikes. What can I say. I LOVE DRAG BIKES! Drag bikes are raw precision engineering stripped down to the absolute minimum. Speed above all else. Every inch of the bike is completely and totally utilitarian in design. Here’s a bunch of Ironhead images I’ve been collecting.

Ironhead Wednesday on the Chopper Blog.

Royal Enfield

I’ve been looking at those new Royal Enfield bikes recently. They are really cut right out of the past in a lot of ways. I dug this shot out of my lions raceway archive and it reminded me that they just don’t make em like they used to. There’s another shot of this bike and rider/mechanic in our header. Some serious hours and engineering in this beast. Note the Bonneville National sticker on the tank corner. I’d love to know what kind of speeds this guy has squeezed out of this thing. Welcome to the chopper blog.

Wes at Four Aces Cycle – disappearing on the flats

You gotta dig this stuff. Wes at Four Aces Cycle is a regular at the Bonneville salt flats. I visit their site and triumph blog a lot looking at all the great triumph stuff they’re screwing around with. I say screwing around but actually these guys a quite serious about speed and enginering. Tons of great knowledge, parts, video, shirts, and speed coming out of Four Aces Cycle. Check them out, buy a shirt, support the need for speed. Speed Club approved.

I wanna go FAST!

Forgot to include this image with the last post. It’s an up-close picture of Mor Xpense’s drag bike power plant. I can just imagine goofing off at the track and seeing this guy launch this thing off the line. Beautiful engineering. Welcome to the chopper blog.
