Look closely at old chopper bars. The crazy wild two-piece ones are usually a set of apes or bull horns that have been flipped, cut, mildly bent or hacked. That’s what I’m doing and shit is looking right on time. Dig it. Measure, cut, slug em, tap & mount, measure again and add a cross member or two for good measure. Some dude online is asking 120 bucks for bars just like these.
Total cost… $20 + chrome.
Satisfaction of making em myself… priceless.
That’s where its at (unless you go trike). Cant get me enough of that sh*t. All night long I’m dreaming molded fenders, stretched prism tanks, chrome, mega rakes, rabbit bars, and metal flake.
Anyone looking for Invader Wheels? I know a dude. Tires are in great shape. Definitely another season or two left on them. Wheels have a little rust here and there but could probably clean up. The front is 21″ and the rear is a 15″. The front wheel needs a new hub but you can probably scoop one up at a swap or via Halcraft. Email me if interested and I’ll get you in touch. Front end is SOLD.
Got up early and dragged myself out to the Swap in Anoka. They opened the doors a little early and I slipped in with the old heads. Scored some cheap necessities and I think I found a good local used parts friend in one of the vendors. Picked up a complete midset pegs/ brake pedal set up and a polished open-primary alternator cover for $20 bucks. I even rummaged up a a little chromed front air scoop (Drag style). Maybe it will end up on the shovelhead project but that remains to be seen. It’s still early. If you were on the fence about going… go. Still some good stuff on the tables when I left.
