Here’s a quick video I pieced together from a huge folder of shots I grabbed today at the Mods vs Rockers Ride in Minneapolis yesterday (June 5th – 2010). Lots of great stuff. Had a great time even though it rained like mad for almost the entire day. Soaked to the bone but had a chance to catch up with some old friends and make some new ones. Great bikes and scooters. Special thanks to BlueCat Motors for organizing the event. Met up at Grumpys. Pounded a couple Guinness and headed through the campus and down University Ave to the BC Motors lot for more bike and pretty ladies. Dig it. Check out our chopper blog for all sorts of midwest moto psycho culture, pics, video and parts. Extra thanks on the music provided by none other than the late great Doo Rag – “Bullhorn”
Roadside somewhere between Lake Superior and Finland to stretch our legs, snap photos and take a leak. Pictures just don’t seem to capture it. You’re miles from nowhere with days to go. Glancing over your shoulder at the old miner towns. The dance hall windows have all been broken and the only sign of life is the glowing neon “Schmidt’s” hanging from a lamp post. Another sleepy town swallowed up by time.
Just a reminder – Tomorrow night is First Thursday in Downtown Minneapolis at and around Dulono’s Pizza (Lake Street) in Uptown. Last months gathering was one for the record books. This month should rival last if the weather holds out.. Get that bike out and swing by for the festivities. As always – early birds get the primo spots. Speed Club will see you there. Who knows – Maybe your bike will show up on the chopper blog?
Talk about a fine Triumph. This is the Baron Scrambler. Looks like a nice little dirt tracker. All the right pieces are there and all the junk has been scraped away. He’s running the enduro tires, heavy sprung seat, wide bars, custom tank, and drag pipes all tied together on that hardtail frame with the pre-unit trump motor. I really really like this thing. It reminds me of a T100R I used to have out in Boston. Triumph’s have got that “great lines” factor that you just dont see in a lot of bikes or custom builds these days. A tip of the hat to those chrome fork covers. …very nice.
I love a hillclimb! Talk about a great way to spend a Sunday. My pappy was real big into this hillclimb stuff way back when everyone showed up on sh*t you wouldn’t dare hit a hill with today! I saw this photo and thought it was a perfect example of that feeling you get when your fightin’ that hill and praying to god that you dont land on your balls. I cant say for sure but it looks like this guy is riding a BSA??
