First Thursday Minneapolis – Rain Out

What a bummer. Worked late at the shop last night and rolled the bike out to drive over. About half way there I got dumped on, turned it around and high tailed it back to the Speed Club Garage. First Thursday – Tomorrow Night!

Just a reminder – Tomorrow night is First Thursday in Downtown Minneapolis at and around Dulono’s Pizza (Lake Street) in Uptown. Last months gathering was one for the record books. This month should rival last if the weather holds out.. Get that bike out and swing by for the festivities. As always – early birds get the primo spots. Speed Club will see you there. The Decline of Midwestern Civilization ~ Zac Doom

Stompin’ around out in the Midwest, you cant NOT stumble onto Zac Doom (or as I like to call Heavy Himself) and Heavy-clothing.com. This guy really represents for the Midwest Moto Culture. In fact, he recently made it to cover of Iron Horse Magazine. I’m definitely not the first guy to report on this but I had one of those 1 degree of separation moments this morning when Eric dropped off his bike to get some work done. Eric mentioned knowing Zac to some degree and I realized damn… this dude gets around. With that, I thought fitting to show him a little extra love via the Speed Club Chopper Blog.

Wes at Four Aces Cycle – disappearing on the flats

You gotta dig this stuff. Wes at Four Aces Cycle is a regular at the Bonneville salt flats. I visit their site and triumph blog a lot looking at all the great triumph stuff they’re screwing around with. I say screwing around but actually these guys a quite serious about speed and enginering. Tons of great knowledge, parts, video, shirts, and speed coming out of Four Aces Cycle. Check them out, buy a shirt, support the need for speed. Speed Club approved.

Speed Club Garage – Eric’s XS in Minneapolis

Swung by Minneapolis yesterday to visit Eric and to take a look at his XS650 bar hopper. It’s definitely a build in progress and it looks like we’re going to be taking it in at the Speed Club Garage for the next few weeks. There are all sorts of odds and ends to button up but in the end we’ll be looking at one slick little bobber. He’s already set up his 100% CUSTOM FABRICATED hardtail frame including an FX front end w/ 21″ whitewalls and Harley 16″ spoke rear wheel w/ hydro banana caliper. I dont know the neck rake but the thing looks fast just sitting on the kick stand. Not many pics yet but we’ll definitely get some posted as the project progresses.
