Two things I love… Bikes and Cars! There’s a guy down my street with a 1950 Chevy coupe. It’s one of those un-restored gem kinda cars. Granted, it sits outside all winter while the tires slowly deflate but come summer, the kid always manages to fire the beast back up for the typical Friday night cruise past Porky’s on University Ave. Anyways, this pic kinda reminds me of the neighbors whip.
I wouldn’t kick it out of the garage or anything but chrome Triumph’s are a clean freaks nightmare!
THIS JUST IN! – The Bearded Lady Motorcycle Freak Show will be July 24th at the corner of University and 13th Ave – Minneapolis. This is the 4th year for the Lady. Last years party was one of the best twin cities motorcycle gatherings of the summer. I admit I had a few drinks but I swear I saw Prince ride in on a giant purple lawnmower!? I did see HEAVY there as well as the guys from Blue Cat Motors and even some dudes from out in Monticello (Jordan/Pugs/Daran). Seriously, it’s one of the most eclectic collections of motorcycle mayhem found anywhere in the nation, let alone the Midwest! Tons of great bikes, foxy ladies, music, and most importantly… motorcycles. I’m just gonna come out and say it. If you don’t attend this event… you suck *ss. There is absolutely no excuse for missing out. Speed Club expects to see you all there.
Talk about a fine Triumph. This is the Baron Scrambler. Looks like a nice little dirt tracker. All the right pieces are there and all the junk has been scraped away. He’s running the enduro tires, heavy sprung seat, wide bars, custom tank, and drag pipes all tied together on that hardtail frame with the pre-unit trump motor. I really really like this thing. It reminds me of a T100R I used to have out in Boston. Triumph’s have got that “great lines” factor that you just dont see in a lot of bikes or custom builds these days. A tip of the hat to those chrome fork covers. …very nice.
Imagine nearly 700 people crowded onto the sidewalks of about 4 square blocks. Yup, and we got a “shload” (shit+load) of pics to prove it. There were so many people and bikes out that the cops were intentionally perched at all corners popping people left and right for damn near anything. I’m sure the fuzz made their monthly quota that night. Tons of near stock Harleys and more rice rockets than you could shake a stick at; I still found a few nuggets worth the photo op. Here are some pics.
I have no idea who these blokes are but in all honest truth, this video oozes good “buildin bikes with friends” vibes. Welcome to the chopper blog. I’m out of the office right now at the Donnie Smith Bike Show and swap meet. See you’s all tomorrow.
