Getting close?

Yeah – me neither. Seems like everyone out here is working on at least one project if not two. I just checked the Donnie Smith Show site and that at least give me some kind of deadline. 52 days to get my act together. TO DO: Tonight Im getting up with New Kevin to bend up a sissy bar and finish weld my bars. A new wheel arrives tomorrow (Ive got the tire and tube sitting on a shelf). Im also making some crazy super-pipes and I have to rebuild a set of heads and rockers. After that, I can make some wheel spacers, mount my fender and piece everything together before stripping down for paint and chrome. Okay – so apparently Ive got some work to do.

Chopper with Pig Tails

A lot of work left but a hell of a lot farther along than most. Sissy bar, magneto, pipes, chrome, powder coat and paint should do it.

The Love Whip

Almost ready for the road. Worked on the love whip over the entire weekend. Smoothed out a couple dings in the tank, cut down the bar ends, and I got that sweet FMA stack mounted but I still wanst able to get everything knocked out. Need to clean up those damn cables and I’m starting to consider maybe some rippled pipes to finish it off. Paint on Friday – On the road next week!

Suzuki Gamma Sighting in North America

I was up in Duluth over the 4th. Drinking Beer and riding around on the Jetski; it was a very laid back weekend. Somewhere along the way someone asked me, “wanna check out my little project?” Sure, I said. And there in a garage sitting up on a lift was a very, very rare 1985 Suzuki Gamma. These things are a mid 80’s 500cc Dual Twin 2-stroke powered scream machine. The motor is actually 2 sets of twin cylinders piggy backed together. A very unusual design to say the least. Even more crazy is the wild expansion chamber pipes coming out of all sides of the block. Note the super cool “Gamma” symbol molded on the frame from the factory. There are only about 800-1000 of these across the US and I can now say that I’ve seen it…

Whisper with me now…”great white buffalo.

Back from the Shovelhead Underground

We’ve returned from the shovelhead underground. Managed to come out the other side with a couple shovelhead motors. One complete and the other is a basketcase shovelhead. The dude I bought everything from is a pretty cool fella. The more we hung out the more stuff he threw in with the deal. Managed to drive off with 2 motors, coils, carbs, a spare engine stand, a set of straight pipes and he even tossed in a few books and hard parts catalogs. I gave him a list of some other odds and ends that I’ve been looking for so hopefully I’ll be headed back soon for a few more goodies. Speed Club Approved.
