Lost & Found

IMG_6689

Went through some pics today and found this great pic of my old long bike from 4 or 5 years ago. It was taken at the first Wild Ride out in WI. This thing was really fucking gnarly in every way. Not too many folks ever saw it and that’s totally my fault. Aside from stuff in my hometown, I don’t go to a lot of shows. The idea of looking at bikes all day just isn’t all that appealing to me. Even worse, the thoughts of sitting behind a booth sounds like my own personal slice of hell. Instead, a couple times a year I ride an obscene distance and sleep along the roadside with a couple good friends. Different strokes is all.

high on our own supply

Which means shit to all you west coasters but to the Midwest, we’re straight high on our own supply right now. Everyone’s brains are waking up and suddenly there’s a huge burst of energy and activity. Its both inspiring and oddly ambitious for a bunch of dirt bags who wouldn’t normally give a fuck anyway, right? Satan’s Dildo fired up on the second kick last week after sitting the entire winter. I’m thinking its the sign of a Wild Summer to come. Hell, I realized on Sunday that the long bike’s trans was all kinds of F’d up. I managed to pull it, rebuild it and reinstalled it by Monday night. I’ve got tons of positive vibes pouring out of my fingertips right now.

Chopper with Pig Tails

A lot of work left but a hell of a lot farther along than most. Sissy bar, magneto, pipes, chrome, powder coat and paint should do it.

Blasting Fireballs into my Face

Came across these pics on my desktop today. Not sure where they came from? Maybe Dudley’s Basement I think? Anyway – I’m really diggin’ that separate intake manifolds set up. Shit looks sketch, totally impractical and troublesome as hell and  yet completely fucking mind blowing. I’m gonna make something like this up and see if I can get it to work somewhat well enough to get me there and back without accidentally blasting a fireball into my face. Ill let you know how it progresses. Welcome to the chopper blog. Any spare changes is greatly appreciated.

Triumphs and Shotguns

Stayed an extra day on the way back in Kansas to visit with the Germans family. Sure enough, they gave us a shotgun and we rode out to the back 40. Everyone was having a blast. Jordan was a real killing machine. He hates those damn morning doves!

I was a little chopped the hell out when we left Cali but 4 days in a van has a way of making you crazy to want to get out a blast off all over again. I have tons of totally amazing pics to share so stay tuned to the chopper blog.
