Yeah – me neither. Seems like everyone out here is working on at least one project if not two. I just checked the Donnie Smith Show site and that at least give me some kind of deadline. 52 days to get my act together. TO DO: Tonight Im getting up with New Kevin to bend up a sissy bar and finish weld my bars. A new wheel arrives tomorrow (Ive got the tire and tube sitting on a shelf). Im also making some crazy super-pipes and I have to rebuild a set of heads and rockers. After that, I can make some wheel spacers, mount my fender and piece everything together before stripping down for paint and chrome. Okay – so apparently Ive got some work to do.
Another small win on the workbench. Just finished the xs650 motor rebuild. New cam chain on Sunday and I finished rebuilding and torquing down the head last night. Slapping it back into the frame later today and trying to move on to the next project as quick as I can. Gotta get the next one on the lift. Dreaming of warmer days. Tune in again. Tell your mama. Midwest weather has finally started to break. We’re getting nights in the 50’s and days in the 80’s. Perfect Cycle/Camp weather. Here’s a little video clip put together from way early in the season when me and RL went out to scout a few possible routes. It was like late April/Early May or something. Temp never broke 55 degrees but it was a great time. CHOPOUT 2010 – SEPTEMBER 18TH. Be there. Bring a friend.
I just can’t help myself. X always gets me jacked for the summer. I want to get out and ride till my eyes melt out of my head. Days and nights in the hot garage stinking like gasoline and warm beer. It’s always the songs in your head.
