74″ Flywheels

Just cut the price on these flywheels. There in good shape. The connecting rods and crank pin are replacements to the originals (which were shit). They should be balanced before running. Overall, they’re a good piece for your motor build. If I had a set of cone cases, Id keep em. You can view them in the chopper shack.

Thanks.

Making Chopper Bars

Look closely at old chopper bars. The crazy wild two-piece ones are usually a set of apes or bull horns that have been flipped, cut, mildly bent or hacked. That’s what I’m doing and shit is looking right on time. Dig it. Measure, cut, slug em, tap & mount, measure again and add a cross member or two for good measure. Some dude online is asking 120 bucks for bars just like these.

Total cost… $20 + chrome.
Satisfaction of making em myself… priceless.

Sissy Bar – Dig it.

It’s been so nice out these last few days! I went out to the garage over lunch and started screwing around with some round bar. A cut here; a bend there and I’m thinking I might have some new sissy bar plans. Nothing too fancy. Just a little something to strap some shit down every now and again. I’m thinking some heavier gauge round bar stock a little taller still. Dig it.

Another Proud Ticket Holder – Born Free 3

Reinhart is my man in the cut. He’s got the itch and now he’s officially on board for Born Free 3. He’s choppin that OIF Triumph in the background and we’re gonna make the pilgrimage. It’s not so easy to hit the road when you got family at home so this trip is kind of a big deal for both of us. We’re kissing the wife and kids goodbye and crashing with friends along the way. Speed Club across the nation!

See everyone at Born Free. More to come on the Speed Club Chopper Blog

Royal Enfield

I’ve been looking at those new Royal Enfield bikes recently. They are really cut right out of the past in a lot of ways. I dug this shot out of my lions raceway archive and it reminded me that they just don’t make em like they used to. There’s another shot of this bike and rider/mechanic in our header. Some serious hours and engineering in this beast. Note the Bonneville National sticker on the tank corner. I’d love to know what kind of speeds this guy has squeezed out of this thing. Welcome to the chopper blog.
