Checked Out

I think I slack off too much. My wife thinks I work too hard. One thing is certain, I havent done much posting in the last week. Friday was a long day. I managed to put new tires on the wifes scooter, printed an order, pulled the heads off a cone motor, pulled the trans outta the truck, hit up the super target for late xmas gifts and eventually passed out in front of the tube. My last 3 weeks have been a blurry version of this kinda shit. I really just wanna check out for a few weeks. Maybe go visit Gator in FL or Matt in Boston. Then again, maybe Ill just go disappear up north for a week.I do have an almost complete chopper project coming up for sale soon. Ill post pics on here and chopcult when I get a little freed up.

Chopper Blog Tips & Tricks “Sucker Punch”

Friend sent this to me yesterday. Kinda reminded me of Boston of all things. Had a great time out there other than getting some kind of freak stomach virus causing me to puke blood for about 24 hours. Otherwise, great times we had by all.

Calm ya Liva! ~ Speed Club is Going to Boston!

That’s right. We got some business and pints to tend to out in Bean town. Packin our bags and hoppin’ a plane to spread the midwest moto love. If there’s one thing I can say for sure after living the for so many years it’s this; Boston is such a great place to visit but I wouldnt want to live there. Truth be told, Boz-stone is the home of the biggest bunch of cop pricks I’ve ever encountered. I got stories of being followed, spit on, and stepped on. I got ticketed more times in one year than I’ve ever received in my entire life!

All that said – Take it from a big stinkin’ Irish f*ck like myself. Boston IS the greatest place on earth to get bombed. Any of you Boston readers want to sell me some parts, shoot me an email and we’ll try to connect.

Pics will be posted to the chopper blog.

Speed Club Italiano!

Yeah – for all my love for bikes, I’ve always had a soft spot for the occasional Vespa. I bought my first maybe 8 years ago from a naval yard. It was a 1971 Sprint 160 if I remember correctly. It was a pretty slick little scooter. Other than some bad points, that thing would rip up and down the club house parking lot. I found this one a couple years back when I was still in Boston. Everything was there but the body needed some serious work. I’ve probably spent the better half of this winter bang out all the dents and preping for paint. Here’s a shot of all the body work almost ready for paint.

The Baron Scrambler

Talk about a fine Triumph. This is the Baron Scrambler.  Looks like a nice little dirt tracker. All the right pieces are there and all the junk has been scraped away. He’s running the enduro tires, heavy sprung seat, wide bars, custom tank, and drag pipes all tied together on that hardtail frame with the pre-unit trump motor. I really really like this thing. It reminds me of a T100R I used to have out in Boston. Triumph’s have got that “great lines” factor that you just dont see in a lot of bikes or custom builds these days. A tip of the hat to those chrome fork covers. …very nice.
